Does a person need to be certified to replace a gas water heater?
I need to replace a gas water heater in a residents’ apartment at the complex I work for. Is it legal for a person possessing no certifications to work with natural gas, to replace such an appliance? I’d imagine all states would regulate the same laws with regards to this maintenance,…but I’m in Ohio for whatever it’s worth.
It is very easy to change out a water heater, but if I was in your shoes, I’d be calling a local plumber, if you were to make one slight mistake, that caused the place to go in flames, you might be in a little trouble.
