Installing a gas log set – how do I avoid blowing myself up 
?
Purchased a gas log set off ebay. Currently the fireplace has a solid pipe underneath the grate (probably for burning actual firewood). What are some important things I need to do/purchase for a successful and safe installation? It is a natural gas connection.
We did the same conversion. The easiest way to ensure your safety is first be sure the gas is turned off in the wall, and then read the instructions that came with your kit. We did and didn’t have any issues or hazards.
