natural gas jet sizes

i have an old natural gas dearborn,,am told that they dont have jets to convert to propane?

can i solder the hole and drill the correct size hole? and what size would that be
or do you have a source for the converter

If your propane supplier has a good service department they can help you.
Don’t attempt plugging and re drilling orfices.
I carry an assortment of orfices that 99% of the time will fit application and drill those blanks to needed size.
Worst case i have inserts that plug the existing hole and then has to be drilled.
If gas valve regulator spring cannot be changed it will have to be replaced for propane.
Also pilot orfice will need to be changed or you will have trouble with that.
When i first started in the trade we were always told not to drill orfices. If there wasnt a factory kit we didnt do it. In fact most furnace instruction will tell the installer not to drill orfices.
Years later i worked for a propane supplier for a few years. They were more speacialized, they carried all the precision drill kits and nessasary items for conversions. I learned it was an acceptable practice if you were trained in doing so.
In short find the right service company!
