College and University students: Is your institution gearing up for the 2009 Solar Decathlon?

The 2007 event is over, with Germany’s Technische Universität Darmstadt winning 1st place. University of Maryland took 2nd, Santa Clara 3rd.

DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy is the primary sponsor of this event, which began in 2002. Visit the site below for a look at the designs for all 10 winners.

Green walls and water walls puts the University of Maryland’s leaf house in my cool book, and i like the maple tree wood in the living Area and it recycles water for the garden or car washing , a great idea! , and by reducing water consumption saves you money, you should sell it to Australia’s farmers in their outback as its very dry there, they cant waste any water.We even have water restrictions in Sydney! as our rainfall has been minimal for years now in most of Australia.
