Would it be possible to install solar cells and windmills in the Mojave Desert to supply energy to the west?

The western United States could be supplied i believe, with almost all of its electrical needs since the sun is almost always shining and wind blowing in this area of the United States.

There is 354 MW of solar energy being produced in Kramer Junction and Harper Lake, CA

There are hundreds of wind mills in Mojave, CA

So yes they are making energy.

A new 64.5 MW solar plant was opened in June 2007 near Las Vegas, NV
