The two bigeest issues on people’s minds these days are the economy and the environment.  The great thing about what I am about to tell you is that it adresses both concerns.  With solar and wind power for residential purposes we can not only cut the costs on rising energy prices but also help the environment by using these clean and renewable energies.

Most of us would agree how great it would be to be energy independent and to use a power source that will not harm our planet but are afraid of how much these power systems would cost us.

When making your own wind turbine it is important to take into consideration how windy it usually is at your home.  Many of these wind turbines are put on towers or poles that are way up in the air above the tree line, so as to get the most out of those wind currents above us.  This ensures maximum efficiency with your wind powered project.

Wind is one of my favorite sources of energy because unlike solar it is always working; all night long and all day long.  If you want you can also buy a wind turbine kit for your homebuilt system and get a head start on using renewable energy to see if  it’s something you would like to pursue.
