Conservative estimates of the spending on the war in iraq total over 500 billion dollars. This would be enough money to supply energy to 60 million homes if spent on solar or wind energy sources. Or, the money could have been invested in new energy research, battery technology, and electric cars, and yielded even greater energy independence. So why aren’t these things being done?

Because our president is a “war president” who doesn’t care about unexciting things like saving the Earth.
