How close can a natural gas line be to the main breaker box?

We are renovating our kitchen and would like to move our stove but our gas line would run by our breaker box in the basment. So we are wondering how close can a natural gas line or water line be to the main breaker box.
we live in Illinois. the house was built in 1904 and currently has black iron piping

Use black iron pipe thread tape or pipe dope and do a proper soap bubble leak check and in Illinois an inch two is fine
