Impact of Ontario Feed in Tariff program on the Wind Power Market

This report explores a key segment within the alternative energy industry. The Ontario Feed in Tariff (FIT) program introduced in 2009 by the Ontario Power Authority is the state’s first comprehensive price guarantee system for renewable power generation. Along with covering project costs, the FIT program is expected to provide reasonable return on investments over the project life. The Ontario FIT program is expected to be particularly beneficial for wind as the state already has the largest market share in wind power in the country.
