Alternative to natural gas for heating in NYC?
I live in an apartment in West Harlem, and have switched to wind power for electricity, and am wondering if there is any way to switch to electricity for heating as well (both for the floorboard heaters and for water heating).
We have an in-apartment water heating system powered by natural gas. I was wondering if there is anyway to switch to electric water heating without violating the terms of our lease (which does not provide for us ripping out the water heater and gas piping:).
Any help would be appreciated.
you dont want to switch to electric hot water . the cose it to much… if you have room and permission a chimney so you can put in a wood burning stove.. most wood is free palletes and scrap..
